Location: Oehna is located at the edge of the Fläming region, approximately 8 km south of Jüterbog and 28 kilometers northeast of Wittenberg. To the north lies the district of Rohrbeck, to the northeast the district of Bochow, and to the southeast the district of Langenlipsdorf. To the south-southeast, Zellendorf is another district of the municipality. To the southwest, the Jänickendorfer Heide forest area extends, while the remaining areas are used primarily for agriculture. Oehna is one of the oldest settlements in the Fläming region and was already a Slavic settlement before German colonists arrived around 1157. The name, like Dennewitz, Bochow, and Dalichow, bears witness to Slavic culture in the Fläming. Since June 15, 1992, the municipality of Oehna has belonged to the Niedergörsdorf municipal office. In 1993, the Jüterbog district was merged with the Luckenwalde and Zossen districts to form the Teltow-Fläming district. The volunteer fire department celebrated its 60th anniversary on April 1, 1995. In the same year, the municipality celebrated its 800th anniversary from June 5-11. The Niedergörsdorf municipal office was dissolved in 1997 with the formation of the Niedergörsdorf municipality. Since then, Oehna has been a district of the Niedergörsdorf municipality. Thanks to the RE 4 rail connection between Stendal and Falkenberg, you can reach Berlin Südkreuz station in approximately one hour. By car, you can reach Berlin via the B 101 and the Luther City of Wittenberg via the B 187 in approximately 45 minutes. In the village center there is the "Gasthof Witte", and about 3 km outside the village is the "Fläming Air" airfield. From there, scenic flights with gliders or small motorized aircraft are possible. The village community offers extensive leisure activities, such as participation in the volunteer fire department with youth fire department as well as membership in the theater group or local history society.
