Cal Compte, one of the most majestic houses in Priorat, was built in 1801 on old 16th century structures, in keeping with the refined taste of the time. In 2007 it was restored as a rural accommodation, respecting as much as possible the original aesthetics and architecture and giving each corner its own personality. It has a license for tourist activities. It is a space intended for those who believe that authenticity is a luxury and who want to be part of the centuries-old history of Cal Compte and Priorat. A spacious entrance welcomes guests and serves as a distribution area. The old stables were repurposed for hotel facilities: boiler, water and diesel tanks. There is an elevator and a workshop-storage room that also serves to store bicycles. Baroque doors conceal the spacious staircase. At the back, as if it were an independent floor, there is access to a large dining room. Around it are the main kitchen with pantry and storage, the library, another smaller dining room and a living area. A side corridor leads to the bathroom and dressing room-bedroom. The same dining room opens directly to the exterior. First a porch and then an open terrace overlooking the garden. The views of the Montsant natural park and the vineyards are spectacular. The flooring is the original clay. The doors, paintings and mosaics are from the 17th and 18th centuries. The staircase leads to a large hall that opens onto a covered colonial-style terrace. A room used as a meeting space, and toilets. There is also a spacious pantry with pre-installations ready for a kitchen. From the covered terrace, a small porch leads to the old latrines. The walls are covered with graffiti from when the house was occupied by soldiers during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). Facing west, with afternoon sun, we find an old reception hall, the old bedroom of the master of the house and the chapel. This group of rooms has not been restored. It features walls decorated with frescoes and 18th century carpentry and 19th century ceramic floors. The old attic houses eight modern and comfortable bedrooms with bathrooms. Three suites and five double rooms. The spaces are versatile and grouped in such a way that they can function as three apartments. The suites have a living-dining room-kitchen. All of this around a rest area with fireplace and access to a solarium ideal for sunbathing, stargazing or simply listening to the silence.
