Location: Lichterfelde is a district of the municipality of Niederer Fläming in the south of Teltow-Fläming district in Brandenburg. Lichterfelde is a typical Brandenburg village street settlement consisting of a main village road, along which nearly all houses of the village are located. These are predominantly four-sided farmyards, or their remains, as over time outbuildings were demolished and no closed courtyard structure remains. The village character is shaped by the village pond, the church, and the "Oberlaubenstall". The village of Lichterfelde was founded during the medieval German eastern colonization by Flemish settlers. This is reflected in the village name, which traces back to West Flemish Lichtervelde (as, for example, Lichtervelde in Flanders also does). In the first documented mention of the village from 1279, Lichterfelde was transferred by Günther von Schwalenberg to Zinna Monastery. The monastery sold the village as early as 1463 to the Jüterbog district office, and Lichterfelde subsequently became an administrative village. In 1962, Lichterfelde became part of the municipality of Werbig; since 1997, the village has been part of the municipality of Niederer Fläming, whose administrative seat is located in the village. Wiepersdorf Castle is located 8 km away. The Cultural Foundation organizes an interdisciplinary and international scholarship program for individuals and groups, regularly offering cultural programs to interested visitors. Lichterfelde is also conveniently located only 800 m from the B 102 between Brandenburg and Luckau and approximately 6 km from the B 101 between Berlin and Aue.
