Location: Zellendorf is located at the edge of the Fläming, approximately 11 km south of Jüterbog and 25 km northeast of Lutherstadt Wittenberg. North of Zellendorf is Langenlipsdorf, another district of the municipality, while to the east lies Körbitz, a district of the municipality of Niederer Fläming. To the south, Linda, a district of the city of Jessen (Elster) in Saxony-Anhalt, borders Zellendorf, and to the southwest lies Mügeln, also belonging to Jessen. To the west extends the Glücksburger Heide, an extensive forest area. To the south follows the Zellendorfer Heide. Zellendorf was first mentioned in 1217 as "Czedelndorph". Hiltrud and Carsten Preuß suspect that the name indicates a Slavic settlement. At that time, the place belonged to the Seyda administrative district and came under the Wittenberg administration in 1501. During the Thirty Years' War, the village was nearly depopulated, and plague arrived in 1635. From 1816, Zellendorf belonged to the Province of Saxony, Schweinitz district. In 1952, Zellendorf came to the Jüterbog district. From 1992, it was part of the Niedergörsdorf administrative office, and since 1998 it has been a district of Niedergörsdorf. Thanks to the railway connection of the RE 4 between Stendal and Falkenberg, one can reach Berlin Südkreuz train station in approximately one hour. By car, one can reach Berlin via the B 101 and Lutherstadt Wittenberg via the B 187 in approximately 45 minutes. In the village center, there is the restaurant "Zur Linde", and about 1 km outside the village is the "Fläming Air" airfield. From there, scenic flights with gliders or small-engine aircraft are possible.
