In the emblematic city of Lamego, we find this distinguished property distributed across 3.3 hectares of land, symbiotically aligned with the slope of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Remedies forest. At Quinta de Arneirós, we can marvel while walking or driving through its stone-paved paths and granite walls, with its lush gardens, organic vegetable garden and orchard. It also features a small lake in addition to its exuberant swimming pool with Biosal treatment and an underway heating system development. The estate has a Wood House, a granite stone house built in the 19th century. With its exposed stone and nestled on the slope, this traditional house can serve various purposes. Currently used for family residence and operation of a gardening company and organic mushroom production, the residence built in 2020 stands out for its strategic placement on the property, which provides excellent sun exposure and stunning views. The residence comprises two floors. On the ground floor we find the social and service areas. We are welcomed by its entrance hall, which also serves as distribution, leading us to the living room with a double-sided heat recovery system, which is in open space with the kitchen. Beside it, we have a rustic kitchen with a wood-burning oven and an imposing family dining table, so characteristic of this region of the country. On the opposite side, we have a service area with bathroom, office, closed garage for 2 cars, laundry room and wine cellar. On the first floor, we have three wonderful suites all equipped with spacious and inviting balconies. The master suite also has a highly functional walk-in closet. The neutral color palette chosen brings us a sense of familiarity while calming and energizing us! In terms of home automation, the house is equipped with large tilt-turn windows with triple glazing and solar filter. It also has electric laminated exterior blinds, allowing perfect control of natural light. Its solar panels power hot water and all electrical energy in the house. It has a heat pump, radiant heating, air conditioning, video intercom and alarm with video surveillance, wireless network, automatic gates, and built-in appliances. According to the Urban Planning Department of Lamego City Council, the property still allows additional construction of an area up to 1,500 m² of soil waterproofing, with up to 2 floors and the placement of glamping structures throughout the property in the case of tourist exploitation. However, it may have different uses, namely at the level of tourist exploration, agricultural exploration or simply for family enjoyment. The city of Lamego is well known for its peculiar cured meats, namely ham, moura sausage and salpicão, for its wine, from rosé to red wine, from sparkling to port wine, for its red-yellowish cherries, for its meaty chestnuts... in short, for the particular flavor that its lands give to horticultural products. Its main celebration is the Festival of Our Lady of Remedies, usually between August 24 and September 8. At the top of Santo Estêvão hill, the sanctuary is currently an integral part of the city's panorama to which it is connected by a scenic staircase with 686 steps. Since 1984, the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Remedies, including the staircase and park, have been classified as a Public Interest Property, forming part of the National Heritage. Popular devotion to the site dates back to a chapel under the invocation of Saint Stephen, erected in 1361. In the 16th century, threatening ruin, it was demolished (1568), initiating the construction of a new temple, by initiative of the bishop of Lamego. In the new hermitage was deposited an image of the Virgin with the Child. Over time, devotion to Saint Stephen diminished, being replaced by devotion to the Virgin. The devotion of those who sought her for relief from illnesses gave rise, in turn, to devotion to Our Lady of Remedies. The current sanctuary was begun in 1750 and completed only in 1905. This millennial city has about 24,000 inhabitants (2021 census), with its main activities focused on services, commerce and agriculture. The latter represents an important source of wealth, mainly from the wine sector, as the municipality, like other municipalities in the region, is integrated into the Demarcated Region of Douro. In this city we find the centuries-old Raposeira Caves. The sectors of monumental and religious tourism have been growing gradually, and it is in them that some potential is identified, with the council's vocation being recognized. The dynamics recorded are sufficient, though improvements could be made in this sector. This situation was reinforced with the completion of the A24, this infrastructure being a determining factor in attracting and demand for this region. The School of Hotel and Tourism, the School of Education and the School of Technology and Management have attracted young people from different regions of the country, who are enchanted by the magic of this city, with its monuments, historic streets and neighborhoods, its large number of heraldic houses, fountains, parks and gardens, crosses and pillories, which surrounded by hiking trails of different levels allow them to enjoy the natural beauty of this region and an unparalleled quality of life. The city enchants both national and international people – whoever visits wants to return! It has also sparked the interest of various foreign families, who choose to make this place their new home. Allow yourself to discover this property and how transformative it can be!
